Animal from the Muppets has the best facial expressions. When Animal has a revelation his eyebrows go up and his eyes go wide… and you don’t know if he’s going to lose it or start laughing! I always loved it when he would get lost in a drum solo and destroy his drum set
This acrylic study was done on the cover of one of my sketchbooks... I was using the cover for brushing off excess paint while I worked, so it had built up a lot of colours and texture. Felt like the perfect, chaotic surface to paint Animal's portrait on.
