“Muggles? They don’t see nothing, do they?” —Stan Shunpike
I loved the idea of the Knight Bus speeding along the streets of London without a single person noticing… magic is a wonderful thing! Even though this painting is of Paris, I thought it would be fun to paint in the iconic magical bus in place of one of the old-timey trams. I don’t think anyone noticed.
I found this little painting without its frame… and then found a nice vintage frame that it fit perfectly! This original painting was a study of the painting “Paris in the rain, evening” by master René Rambert (1901-1911.) It’s very common for artists to study each other’s work as a way of learning new technique and styles.
“Humans Don’t See Nothin’”
Painted by Heather Castles
20.5 x 25.5 cm (8x10 inch) vintage canvas
43.5 x 38.5 cm (15 x 17 inch) vintage wood frame with gold trim
P.S. The purple canvas is what I use to brush off the excess paint while I work... there are bits of this painting, plus several others layered underneath. If you'd like this included with your painting as a fun abstract accent piece, let me know and I'd be happy to include it with the artwork. 8x8 inches.
