Lunar Bovinae - original upcycled vintage art

“Actually, would you mind throwing some of those pellets in with the Mooncalves over there?” —Newt Scamander

This alteration was a special request for mooncalves, the gentle magical creatures introduced to us in the Fantastic Beasts films. I enjoyed rewatching the scenes, and researching these little guys to capture their reclusive nature. I embraced the description Newt Scamander gave of them, as having smooth greyish skin, large flat feet… and very shy dispositions.

The original was a print on paper of wolves, and it was fun transforming them into gentle mooncalves. (A bit of a nod to a wolf in sheep’s clothing!) The artwork is protected by glass. The vintage frame is in good condition, with some minor dings which add to the charm of it.  Sturdy and ready to display on the wall. 

P.S. Because the painting is on paper which has a sheen, it is very difficult to photograph! I have a video of the artwork from different angles to give you a feel for the detail... in natural lighting the dark colours are deeper, and the blues are more greyish.
