Happy 20th Anniversary to the Battlestar Galactica fans out there! This portrait is the first study in preparation for some BSG inspired upcycled pieces I'll be starting in September. 

I love the idea of droids sitting for their portraits like our ancestors would in the olden days. It requires a lot of patience to stand perfectly still while one is immortalized in paint… such a contrast to today’s selfie culture! 

Vintage frame : My frames are sourced locally from a thrift store, given a little TLC replacing glass and backings. This vintage metal frame is designed for wall display. 

Antique paper : sourced from a 1920's photo album.
