Portrait of IG-11
18 x 24cm oval watercolour on paper
33 x 23 cm oval vintage frame with domed glass
IG11 was another of my fav droids, for his contrast in character from loveable to absolutely terrifying! He had us all in tears while watching The Mandalorian, and with such a memorable face, wanted to paint his portrait as well. (I’d like to paint his statue in an upcycled painting at some point, just haven’t found the right piece yet.)
The vintage frame is made of metal, and has domed glass. The backing has a layer of velvet.
Note : This painting is priced a little lower than the others, because it has a couple imperfections. Mistakes are part of being an artist, and some of them are fixable... but watercolours are less forgiving! There is a small imperfection on one part of the paper. And, if you watch day reel, you would have noticed that I accidentally painted both of IG's hands the same... one is distinctly different! So I fixed it, but there is a shadow from where the original one was. You can see if in the photos. (If this bothers you, I recommend choosing a print because I removed those imperfections in Photoshop.) Personally, I think imperfections in art aren't an issue... but have reduced the price a little to acknowledge that the piece isn't perfect.
