On my desk...
Hiya!If you've been following my stories on social media, you'll know that I've been busy painting new fantasy and sci-fi art... and I've not been sharing as many reels of the finished work! I don't mean to tease you with not sharing the reels... I just have a small window to paint before I need to prepare for three big events : Autumn Art Drop (Here on my website) Wayside Comics Creator Con (Newmarket, Ontario) The One Of A Kind Show (Toronto, Ontario) I know some of you are waiting on specific pieces, so I will continue to paint, paint, paint till my Art Drop for originals on Oct 25th. Prints & Downloads will be released... soon! I recommend signing up for my newsletter (scroll down to the newsletter signup below, or you can drop me a note here) to get Early Access to my new art and little goodies along the way! --heather |
"Don't Blink."My eldest hates this painting. I "may" have introduced her to Dr Who a little young, and this was the first episode we watched... she's now a teenager and it still gives her the creeps! Will complete this soon with more details. Soon to be available as original, prints & digitals. (Oct 2024) |
"Where Did I Park... part 2"Will complete this soon with more details. Soon to be available as original, prints & digitals. (Oct 2024) |
"Curiously long life for a common garden rat!" --Sirius BlackThis was one of those impulsive ideas that took hold of me and I had to see it to completion in one go. The transformation of Peter Pettigrew into Scabbars always creeped me out in "The Prisoner of Azkaban." I filmed painting this transformation as if it was actually happening in the paint... all that is left is the rat! It's a sort of animation done in real life with paint... the reel is the only record of the disfigured portrait as it transformed. Soon to be available as original, not sure about prints / digitals at this point. (Oct 2024) |
"The flight of Arwen"I'm in the middle of painting this alteration... the Nazgûl chasing Arwen through the fields as she flees to save Frodo. Will complete this soon with more details. Soon to be available as original, prints & digitals. (Oct 2024) |
"You draw far too much attention to yourself, Mr. Underhill." --StriderThis alteration introduces the Nazgûl approaching the town of Bree. I painted in the warm lights and what I believe may be the world's smallest "Prancing Pony" sign! Soon to be available as original, prints & digitals. (Sep 2024) |
"For things are made to endure in the Shire, passing from one generation to the next. There's always been a Baggins, living here under the Hill… in Bag End. And there always will be." --BilboInspired by The Shire, just letting this one rest a bit to make sure I'm happy with it before putting it in its frame. Soon to be available as original, prints & digitals. (Sep 2024) |
"Filled with comfort..."Inspired by Bag End, this alteration had me converting a European style cottage into a comfortable hole for hobbits. I am going to varnish it before putting it back in its vintage frame. Soon to be available as original, prints & digitals. (Sep 2024) |
"Post Apocalyptic Boston"This was a special request... I loved hearing about the petition to keep the CITGO sign up in Boston long after it changed locations. The idea that it would still be standing in the far future when global warming has turned the globe into a water world was a fun one to explore. Soon to be available as prints & digitals. (Sep 2024) |
"Welcome home..."Inspired by Hogwarts & Hogsmeade village, just putting on the last details on the castle and village. Soon to be available as original, prints & digitals. (Sep 2024) |
"That's no moon."Inspired by the many planets that fell victim to the Death Star. This one will be available at the One Of A Kind Show this November in Toronto! (Sep 2024) |
"Yeah! Falcor, it's even more beautiful than I thought!"The paint is drying on this one of the Ivory Tower inspired by The Neverending Story. Soon to be available as original, prints & digitals. (Sep 2024) |
