Luna c1780 - original upcycled vintage art

“Everyone, this is Loony Love…Luna Lovegood!”  —Hermoine

I found this portrait print of a portrait style popular in the 1700's... I also had a couple pairs of cosplay glasses that gave me an idea! What if Luna was born in 1780 instead of 1980?

This altered painting is a little nod to that idea : I painting in Luna's iconic glasses, beaded earrings, and transformed her pendant into a butter beer cork. 

I really enjoyed painting these glasses... did you know I worked as an optician while I went to college for art and design? I fitted, dispensed, made and repaired glasses... so I was very picky when it came to painting these distinct spectacles! 

The vintage print was collected locally in Brampton, Ontario. The frame is heavy and very old, closer to antique than vintage. I replaced the matte with a black one which really makes the artwork pop. Wall display.
