While I’m on a pirate kick, this faded ship painting lent itself to being transformed into something new... I usually like to paint octopus playing with passing ships, but this one had it coming, and the kraken is winning!
This painting was rescued along with another, and both were in rough shape. They were very, very dirty! No hanging wire, bit dented. So I gently cleaned them, put them in new frames. These are replica paintings, created to replicate the old European masters. I have found similar paintings before, almost identical, examples of mass produced “original” artwork. I’m pretty sure pen names are used, as the painting looks like it is done by the same artist.
