Little Cutiepies - original upcycled vintage painting

When I found this old print, I knew I wanted to add a droid element into it. I love the idea of children across the galaxy having little robot toys to play with… which are easier to care for than actual pets would be on a space ship or living on a rugged, terraformed planet.

The original antique print was of “Bluebirds Bring Happiness” by American illustrator Zula Kenyon (1873-1947.) She illustrated many pieces inspired by little girls with bluebirds, beautifully capturing nostalgic, tender moments. It was a pleasure working with this print, and adding in a scifi element interacting with her illustration. 

Art Drop Notes : This is a proper "straight from the artist's desk" art drop! I was feeling very inspired these last weeks and decided that instead of doing a fancy, polished art drop, I would just piant, paint, paint more art for May the 4th! I am now putting them all into their vintage frames... that means repairing the old frames, cleaning the glass, then photographing each one. I still wanted to give you early access to my new art before my art drop on May the 4th, so I've taken some quick photos of the unframed artwork for you.
