Note : This is one of several prints set aside to bring with me to the One Of A Kind Show (Nov 26-Dec 1) where you can collect them in person right here in Toronto! If you can't make it to the show and wish to collect it and have it shipped to you, you are most welcome to... but please note that I have not described the reclaimed frame, not updated the dimensions and not put in the shipping details yet! Drop me a note if you are keen and have any questions about this custom framed piece.
Framed print of:
"A Stunning Bouquet"
Somebody obviously disobeyed the prime directive… again! With this painting, I explored the idea that "someone" was visiting mid 19th-century Earth, and carelessly left a piece of technology laying about!
The original vintage painting was by Edith Jameson, Toronto. There was a paper label on the back of the canvas with Edith’s details, undated but I would say this piece is mid 19th century. The sticker on the back says “After First Frost” which I don’t think matches the painting… so I wonder if Edith painted over a winter landscape. Artists often paint over canvas (because canvas was expensive!), and there are little signs of colour underneath the existing floral.
