Upper Management - original upcycled vintage painting

At first they thought the Empire was there to help bring order. But slowly over time, brick by brick, an insidious occupation occurred…

This scene of Batterie Royale (Royal Batter) in Quebec was the perfect choice… it was a defensive system built in 1691, and was used during the siege of Québec City in 1759. The parallel of having such an enormous structure built behind this historic defensive system gives an ominous feeling of oppression… and you wonder how much longer the locals will peacefully get along with the upper management.

I collected this vintage print titled “Batterie Royale, Quebec” locally in Ontario. The artist printed it on paper (not an etching, you can see the dots from the printer on the paper under a magnifying glass!), and then applied some watercolour to give it a handmade feel. It is signed and dated (1990) by the original artist.

Art Drop Notes : This is a proper "straight from the artist's desk" art drop! I was feeling very inspired these last weeks and decided that instead of doing a fancy, polished art drop, I would just paint, paint, paint more art for May the 4th! I am now putting them all into their vintage frames... that means repairing the old frames, cleaning the glass, then photographing each one. I still wanted to give you early access to my new art before my art drop on May the 4th, so I've taken some quick photos of the unframed artwork for you.
